"City on the Water" is a school project made in 2003. It is an urban planning of Pier no.4 on the habour of Århus, wich is now converted from container transit zone into a new urban development zone. The plan consists of two main elements, the string and the city. The string conects the historic center of Århus to the new city on the water. In the junction between the string and the city is a culture center with multible functions, wich serves as an attractor for people from Århus center, and as a local gathering point for the inhabitants of the city on the water. Here interaction between these two groups will occour. The city part is a blend of primarely housing units, public functions such as kindergardens and small businesses.
